Canada View Hike
Take a hike with the Vermont Sierra Club and the Northeast Wilderness Trust on Saturday, September 27th along the Long Trail in Jay, Vermont. Enjoy a great fall hike with friends and learn about the plans to protect the 900-acre 'Canada View' property. Nor'easter Festival
Meet us at Nor'easter Festival, a weekend-long festival of music, sport, and conservation happening September 26-28th at Tenney Mountain in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Wildlands Philanthropy Book Release
Writer Tom Butler is the editorial projects director for the Foundation for Deep Ecology, and a long-time conservation activist focused on wilderness and biodiversity. Three days of regional jam, rock and acoustic roots music at the Branch Brook Campground in the beautiful White Mountains. $2 of each ticket were donated to the Northeast Wilderness Trust.
Cape Foundation 5k Run/Walk
August 23 • Brighton, Massachusetts
Many helped save northeastern wilderness by lacing up their sneaks and joining us for a day of fun along the Charles River. The Cape Shore Foundation generously donated all of the proceeds from its 5-K run/walk to the Northeast Wilderness Trust.
Wapack Wilderness in Peak Fall Color
Monadnock area residents and visitors joined NWT, the Harris Center, and the Temple and New Ipswich Conservation Commissions for a four mile hike through the Wapack Wilderness at the peak of leaf-peeping season.
Wildlands Philanthropy: An American Tradition, Portland, Maine
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our summer gathering! Attendees enjoyed an inspiring presentation by board member, author and wilderness champion, Tom Butler, on his forthcoming book, Wildlands Philanthropy: An American Tradition.
Howland Research Forest Walk
On Saturday July, 14th, area residents joined Howland scientists and the NWT board and staff for a tour and conversation on this globally significant research forest.
Rediscovering Chesire Place: The Cultural History of the Wapack Wilderness
In June 2007, NWT cosponsored a cultural history tour of the Wapack Wilderness. This unique property is the former site of Cheshire Place, a 19th century "model gentleman's farm" founded by an eccentric textile tycoon.
Participants enjoyed a tour highlighting local domestic and industrial activity in the late 1800's and a guided walk of the magnificent surrounding forest.

On April 20th, the Northeast Wilderness Trust friends and members joined the NWT board and staff for a wonderful presentation by Tom Butler on his forthcoming book, Wildlands Philanthropy: An American Tradition.


Following the October 2006 Annual Meeting, NWT staff and board enjoy a walk on the Anderson property, protected by the Trust in 2003.
