Accelerating Wildlands Conservation

Your gift will protect, steward, and champion wilderness.

Today, only about 3 percent of the Northeast is protected as forever-wild. A durable future for the diversity of life demands more. Northeast Wilderness Trust, with your help, is on a mission to help create such a future—a wilder future.

What will the Campaign do? And how will we do it?

The goal for the Campaign for a Wild Future is $18 million. The Campaign will generate measurable progress in three programmatic tracks:

Protect Land ($6.5 million)

Northeast Wilderness Trust’s goal is to conserve 160,000 acres by 2030, which is ambitious and achievable—delivering clear benefits to Nature and people. The Forever-Wild Action Fund will allow the Wilderness Trust to accelerate wildlands conservation directly and through our Wildlands Partnership.

Rewild Land ($6.5 million)

When Northeast Wilderness Trust acquires a property, rewilding begins in partnership with Nature. But that process of natural rejuvenation will only continue if we have the staff and resources to safeguard our wilderness preserves and uphold forever-wild easements in perpetuity.

Champion Wilderness ($5 million)

A flourishing future for all life requires a shift in our relationship with Nature. No other regional land trust is dedicated to championing wilderness as the basis for that shift. With adequate funding, Northeast Wilderness Trust can be this steadfast champion for reciprocity between people and the land.

“My wife and I felt strongly that we wanted to make as generous as possible a donation to Northeast Wilderness Trust now rather than wait until the end of our lives. Furthermore, we believe that contributing to the Campaign for a Wild Future was the best way for us to help the Wilderness Trust fulfill its vital mission of rewilding the Northeast now and for many years to come.”
