NEW YORK, REWILDING

Giving Tuesday Campaign for Woodbury Mountain

Giving Tuesday is a movement that brings people together for global collaboration and generosity. The basic idea is to encourage people to do good. This year, Giving Tuesday is November 30th.

Northeast Wilderness Trust is currently raising funds for Save This Land property Woodbury Mountain Wilderness Preserve. Help this landscape remain climate resilient today.

This Wilderness Preserve stands at the headwaters of two major rivers and is within Vermont’s only “Important Bird Area” as labeled by the National Audubon Society and BirdLife International.

Located east of the Worcester Mountains and south of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, Woodbury Mountain is sandwiched between existing wilderness areas. Woodbury Mountain is integral to linking this wildlife corridor.

Not only do forests provide habitat for wildlife, but old-growth forests store large amounts of carbon as well. This proposed wilderness preserve compromises 5,459 acres. That’s a lot of opportunity for clean air!
