Wild Nature Needs You. In an era of ecological uncertainty, protecting forever-wild landscapes is more important than ever before. Your gift will create new wilderness—and renewed hope—as the world perseveres through climate chaos, massive land use changes, and biodiversity collapse. With your support, forests and all their inhabitants—from mosses to moose—will heal, rewild, and flourish in peace, right here in the Northeast. Thank you!
Prefer to make monthly gifts to provide stable support and help us focus on conservation? Join the Forever-Wild Circle.
If you have a donor-advised fund at Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Mellon, DAFDirect makes it easy to support Northeast Wilderness Trust by giving directly from your fund. Click here to give from a donor-advised fund.
Gifts of stock, bonds, mutual fund shares, and other publicly traded securities often provide significant tax advantages. To make such a gift please contact us at 802.224.1000 or email Jon Leibowitz.
Planned giving is a simple and easy way to leave a significant, meaningful legacy for a wild future. Modern life comes with a hefty carbon impact. Travel, heat, electricity; these things are a necessary part of our lives. We know that wild forests store and sequester vast amounts of carbon. Your Wild Carbon Offset gift will protect land that will remove carbon from the atmosphere and keep it stored in the forest. Calculate the impact of your travel, heat, or electricity, and our calculator will show how much northeastern forest it takes to re-absorb those carbon emissions and how much it will cost to protect that land. Your donation to the Wild Carbon Offset Fund will be used specifically to protect forever-wild landscapes in the Northeast.

The Ancient Forest Society recognizes and celebrates those who have made a planned gift to guide the Wilderness Trust far into the future. Just as the wild places we safeguard will last far beyond any one lifetime, Ancient Forest Society members create a legacy that will endure for generations. Through the vision and generosity of members, the Northeast will always know what it is to love the wild.
Planned gifts are a surprisingly easy option for high-impact giving, either by making Northeast Wilderness Trust a beneficiary of a will or retirement account, or creating a charitable giving annuity.
To learn more about including the Wilderness Trust in your philanthropic plans, please contact Jon Leibowitz, Executive Director at 802.224.1000 or jon@newildernesstrust.org.
Our work would not be possible without the dedication, knowledge, and time of volunteers. Volunteer monitors help look after Northeast Wilderness Trust-protected lands, preserving their wild state today and into the future. Volunteer photographers and filmmakers help us make the case for wilderness protection and tell the story of rewilding places. We also host volunteer events to plant trees, mark boundaries, pick up litter, tally species, and more!
Want to become a wilderness volunteer? Please contact us at volunteer@newildernesstrust.org or 802.224.1000.
Northeast Wilderness Trust is a proud partner of the Spirit Sanctuary. This three-acre green burial ground rests in the heart of the Split Rock Wildway in Essex, New York, and was created by the Eddy Foundation. At the Spirit Sanctuary, people will naturally become a part of the earth and nourish a forever-regenerating forest. It is, and forever will be, a place of protected habitat for native plants, birds, and other animals. By choosing a green burial you can support Northeast Wilderness Trust and leave a lasting environmental legacy.
